This is last weeks design, and I absolutely love it. Polka dots and roses are some of my favourite go to designs, and combined together is just amazing. This could be done with any colours too, I just liked the contrast of the black and white with the red roses. They possibly could have been nice for Valentine's Day too. I think design almost looks quite pop art inspired, because of the outlining of the rose in black. What do you think?
This design did take some hours to do though, because I hadn't really thought it through first. I started with a white base and did the black polka dots (to get them evenly spaced,) however, when I went to do the red roses, unfortunately, the red wasn't opaque enough to cover the polka dots (luckily I discovered this on the first nail so I didn't end up ruining them all.) So what I ended up doing was painting the rose in the corners with white polish to cover up the black polka dots, then going in with the red polish on top. This worked really well, but it was just so time consuming. This also meant that because of the white base, it really made the roses pop and look very vibrant. So that's my tip for if you try this design, or simply do the roses first, then fill in the gaps with the polka dots. (I am just too OCD for this because I know the dots wouldn't look symetrical.)
As usual, I am behind with my blogging. This is in fact my nail art from 2 weeks ago. I love this design, as it looks so difficult, but in fact it wasn't too hard to create at all. I do however wish that I'd done it in different colours, like 2 shades of pink, as I have done a lot of black and white designs so far this year. I am still really happy with it though. I had many questions when wearing this design if it was a transfer, or if i'd painted in myself, and I did infact paint it all freehand, as I do with all of my designs. (I am not a fan of transfers.)
I started with a white base, then took a really thin striping paint brush dipped in black, and drew in some lines. I then used a smaller paint brush to fill in every other square. It's that's simple!! I do hope you give this design a try, and maybe later on in the year I will do it again with different colours. Please don't forget to show me if you do different colours too.
This week I have created a silver glittery chevron design. I have been really into my glittery nail polish recently (although regret it every time I go to take it off!) I very rarely use glitter with nail art designs, however I think this matches really nicely. The photo in fact doesn't actually do it justice, it looks almost like transfers in person, and is so sparkly!!
I hope you like the design. Don't forget to leave me a comment below, and show me your recreations on my social media or #naildeesignz
I am back! It's been a while. I took a few weeks off of nail art (to be honest I was lacking inspiration and motivation to do them.) I'd tried a few designs and things just weren't working out, so I took a break.
This is actually a design I did back in the second week of January, I had just forgotten to blog it. I will be doing a post straight after this with this weeks design.
I absolutely loved this design, and was so pleased with how it turned out. My mum has being going on at me for a while to do a musical note design, and I finally got round to doing them. What do you think?
I can't believe it's 2017 already. How quick did 2016 go? I hope 2016 was a good year for you, despite all the deaths and world crisis. I would say it was a pretty good year in general for my husband and I. We're hoping that 2017 will be even better though.
Before I update you on my first new manicure of 2017, I thought I would share with you a collage of some of my nail art of 2016. I do think my nail art is definitely improving over the years i've been doing it. Let me know which design is your favourite. Mine has to be my halloween nails, I am absolutely in love with them!!
Don't forget to follow me on my social media, if you don't already. See my contact me page for more info.
I am hoping again to come up with some new designs I've never done before, but I can't resist always doing my trusty designs like polka dots, roses, flowers and leopard print. So you're bound to see them again this year. Please let me know if there are any designs in particular you'd like to see this year.
So my first design of 2017 is one of my trusty designs, polka dots! But I haven't done it like this before. I love dark coloured designs for this time of year, especially for New Year. This is a design that can be varied to any colour combinations, and would be great with pastel colours for the summer, but I think the black and white really compliment this design. I hope you like it.
