Love Letter Nail Art

My next few posts are designs which I am currently teaching at my nail art workshop, so are repeats of designs I have previously done.  This week I am teaching how to create newspaper print.  I have added a twist to this design to make it more exciting.  This design would be great for Valentines Day, or even an anniversary.  I hope you like this design.  Please let me know in the comments below.

Here is my design

To create this design you will need:

White Nail Polish

Red Nail Polish

Black Nail Art Striper/Pen

Newspaper cut into 10 pieces

Small Dotting Tool

Rubbing Alcohol (or Vodka/Tequila)

Newspaper Tutorial

1. Cut newspaper into 10 chunks (try to use larger paragraphs, rather than text with too many lines.)
2. Paint your nails with 2 coats of white nail polish & wait until thoroughly dry.
3. When completely dry, dip 1 finger at a time in to the alcohol for approx 10 seconds.
4. Take a piece of newspaper and place it on to the nail (hold it still, do not move, once in place)
5. Hold it on the nail for about 8-10 seconds, pressing it all over.
6. Remove the newspaper from the edges and you should be left with newspaper print on the nail.
7. Repeat for all nails.

Polka Dots & Flowers Nail Art

I am super excited because tomorrow I start teaching my nail art workshop to my students at my work.  This is why I have created yet another nail art design this week.  Not only did I want my nails to show the designs I will be teaching, my previous design got mega chipped and just looked awful.  I did however get lots of compliments on my most recent design.

I love how simple this design is to do and it only requires a dotting tool.  You can also use any colour variations.

All you need to create this design is:

3 Different Colour Nail Polishes

Green Nail Polish to create the leaves

Large Dotting Tool

Small Dotting Tool

I didn't create a nail art tutorial for this because I created a flower and polka dot tutorial previously.  Please see my tutorial page for these.  To be honest, these are so easy to create they don't really require a tutorial.  To create the leaves, simply take a small dotting tool dipped in green nail polish, create a dot and drag the dot outwards until you have a point.

Ikat Pedicure

As I said in my previous post, I have been busy today doing my nails and toes.  Here is my pedicure design for this week.  I have decided to go for an ikat design.  I have done this design before in a yellow for my fingers.  I will post the tutorial on here for the ikat which I did on my fingers.  I hope you like my design.  Please comment and let me know what you think.

Pastel Leopard Nail Art

I have been very busy today, as I have created designs on both my toes and fingers.  This week I have decided to go for pastel colours to create a leopard print design.  This is a really easy design to create and requires limited tools.  I hope you like my design.

This weeks nail art design is a denim jean nail art.  Friday 20th September is Jeans for Genes Day, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to do my jeans nail art.  Let me know what you think of my design.

Blossom Nail Art

My design for this week is, blossom :)  This isn't the design I had intended on doing this week, however my original nail art design didn't go too well.  This was a quick last minute thought, I am really pleased how it turned out though.  This is such an easy and quick design, it's perfect for a nail art beginner.

Back to School Nail Art

Hi, It seems ages since my last post, well over a week!  My previous manicure, the butterfly, lasted forever!  I actually created this nail art design on Monday, ready for me to go back to work on Tuesday.  However, with the wedding planning and being back to work I haven't had much time to blog :(  I have finally got round to it.  I work in a secondary school, which made me want to do my back to school nail art.  Please Let me know what you think in the comments below.

What you need to create the tip and rubber of the pencil

black nail art pen (felt tip type)

I only created the tutorial for the pencil, as this was the most difficult part of the manicure.  If you'd like to know how I created the paper, apple or ruler, please let me know in the comments below and I will happily create a tutorial.
